Everything seemed perfect. The boys came into this world healthy. They were hitting all their milestones. (Rolling, crawling, walking, even words) Around one year and 9 months we started noticing something change. The boys weren’t responding to their names and seemed distance. They acted as if they were in there own little worlds. They lost their ability to speak. They stopped trying to engage. I recall bawling in the pediatricians office begging for answers. I knew something was wrong and they were both struggling with the same thing.

Hunting for answers we started working with a holistic neurologist that a dear friend of mine recommended. We ran countless tests, we even splurged and did the genetic testing. This was NOT genetic. ( Fun Fact: we did discover through this test that they are identical twins, which we did not know!) That being said, something caused this. In our boys case, we believe that their body did not respond well to the vaccines. This blog is not to discuss whether vaccines can be harmful, but I do encourage all mothers to look into the current vaccine schedule and do your research! I pray this post will prevent at least one mother from soaking her pillowcase with tears! There is nothing harder than watching your child struggle. It makes it even harder when you believe the struggle could have been avoided.

I want to follow that heavy paragraph with the reminder that God is sovereign. He is in control! I have seen His goodness in our wilderness. Some incredible things have happened during our journey. One of the most incredible things is that Jon accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior last march! This was a huge answer to prayer and our family has changed so much since then.

We want relief but God wants growth!
