Boundaries During a Challenging Season

Something that I have learned in this season is how to set boundaries. This is so important when you are walking through a challenging season. I carefully choose who is in my inner circle of influence. I’m selective about who can walk this journey with us. Here are some boundaries that I have set!

  1. The person has to have a relationship with God. Key word is relationship (Not just believe).
  2. The person has to believe that God is going to heal the boys. Not only believe, but remind me when Im feeling discouraged.
  3. The person must keep me focused on what God IS doing, celebrating the small victories along the way. Through this challenging season, God is moving. When I stop focusing on what God is up to, I start focusing on what I can physically see. God’s plan is much bigger than our family. I have seen God move in other people’s lives through the boys situation.
  4. The person must love the boys! Love them despite the challenges. Giving them grace when their actions are not of a typical 5 year old. They are the sweetest little boys and deserve nothing less!
  5. The person has to respect how Jon and I choose to parent them. I would say our situation is unique and therefore our parenting is unique. Some may not understand, but that’s ok. Please try not to judge what you don’t understand. For example… There are days that the boys enjoy jumping on the trampoline naked. Some see kids that should have clothes on, Jon and I see 2 happy little boys.

As always, THANK YOU for praying for my boys! Check out the boys progress page for more updates on how they are doing!

I know I’m blessed, just to have been invited to know a little more about the Love that GOD supplies you with. You have been and will continue to be in my prayers.
